My opinion on the future of Psychology:

 

As a registered Psychologist, my primary focus was on talk therapy for stress and depression. While this approach was beneficial to some degree, I realized that negative nutritional and lifestyle factors were leaving a significant gap in treatment. Clients would come with comorbid symptoms, be it IBS, Acne, Hormonal imbalances etc. *I understand this is not for all clients and situations but for my specialist areas. Even feeling horrific symptoms of depression onset and skin disorders post antibiotic use.

​

I repeatedly observed these clients struggling with low self-esteem and confidence, battling inflammatory diets, lacking physical activity, and experiencing skin and gut issues. They felt disconnected from their bodies and hopeless! Having grown up with principles of Naturopathic and clinical Nutrition, I knew this approach was incomplete.

 

I returned to my roots in Nutritional and Naturopathic medicine, recognizing inflammation and gut health as crucial elements to long term health. Likewise, a healthy gut biome responds and is maintained by a both a healthy mental and nutritional balance. Just like a garden cannot grow if it is given sand, despite the seeds that may be there and the best intentions of the Gardner! 

 

Even unconscious trauma may be causing IBS, inflammation, brain fog, depression stemming from the GUT and causing the inflammation and even ulcers. By fixing the gut-biome emotionally and dietetically we can sustain the baby seeds and grow a new healthy way of being. 

 

The mind-body connection is deeply intertwined. My own journey gut issues and inflammation, which led to brain fog, physical burnout, and anxiety, has shaped my practice. I also focus on sports/exercise and relationship health, both vital to overall well-being. This system is so important to treat holistically, together we will heal the holes that are causing the leaks to continue. No matter your journey—whether it's to feel more confident and embrace your body or navigating significant life changes—I support you through Nutritional medicine, supplementation (if necessary), and herbal protocols. This approach emphasizes nourishment through food rather than calorie counting. Once you regain your physical well-being and confidence, watch your life transform.
